The Australian Ballet’s Education Team has been giving Casey dance students a chance to learn from the best in the business during the school holidays.
Team members have been stepping and pirouetting their way around The Factory Rehearsal Centre for the Arts in Cranbourne.
Steamdance is The Australian Ballet’s education program which integrates science, technology, engineering, arts and maths within a ballet workshop and performance experience.
During the five-day program participants have been exploring the fundamentals of ballet to co-create their own dance work to perform at the end of the week.
Students will also have the opportunity to watch The Australian Ballet Education team perform a modern-meets-traditional production of The Sleeping Beauty.
The City of Casey was awarded funding in 2016 from Creative Victoria to bring the state’s esteemed arts companies to the region to collaborate with local schools.
Star News photographer Stewart Chambers went along to one of the rehearsals to capture these dancers in action.
