SPRING in Cranbourne means one thing, and that’s racing.
The TAB Cranbourne Cup carnival has been officially launched with the help of this year’s young members’ ambassador, Melbourne footballer James Harmes and local jockey Jake Bayliss.
A key feature of this year’s cup is set to be a musical performance by Melbourne-based DJ and producer Joel Fletcher, along with other performers in the VIP marquee.
Last year a car was given away and this year won’t be any different.
One lucky racegoer will win a Hyundai i30 by simply being on course.
Cranbourne Turf Club CEO Neil Bainbridge said: “We gave away a car on cup day last year with our great partner Cranbourne Hyundai and it was a great success.”
The Cup will be held on Sunday 9 October, and gates will open at 10.30am. Ten races, including the feature race $300,000 TAB Cranbourne Cup and the $100,000 Procon Developments Apache Cat Classic are set to provide a big day of entertainment.
