A CLYDE North woman almost caught a couple of burglars in the act when the sound of two cars being stolen from her property woke her past midnight.
About 1.30am on Wednesday 21 September, the 27-year-old woman was woken to the sound of car engines outside her house.
Upon going to investigate the noise, she saw the family’s red BMW sedan and Black VM Amarok being reversed down the driveway.
Police believe the keys to both cars were stolen from inside the property while the homeowners slept.
Investigators were told a third vehicle, a silver Holden ute similar to a VE model, was seen speeding away from the scene of the burglary.
The red BMW was located late on Thursday 22 September on Booth Crescent in Dandenong North but the VW Amarok remains missing.
Images of the car have been released in the hope someone recognises the distinctive tray on the ute and has information on the car’s whereabouts.
