Local contenders for state architecture awards

THE City of Casey will be represented by four projects, including three from Cranbourne and Clyde, in this year’s Victorian Architecture Awards.
Close to 200 works from across Victoria will compete for honours in 15 categories and the prestigious Victorian Architecture Medal.
Simon Whibley Architecture’s Art Space, a reconfigurable gallery which displays the work of local artists in libraries both in Cranbourne and around Casey and SJB Architects’ Alarah Townhouses located in Cranbourne West are nominated for the Small Project Architecture and Residential Architecture – Houses (Multiple Housing) awards respectively.
Shopping on Clyde by ClarkeHopkinsClarke Architects, a project that celebrates the history and future growth of the community is a contender for the Commercial Architecture award.
Entries will be featured at No Vacancy Gallery, QV from 7-19 June 2016.
Shortlists will be finalised in early May, and winners announced on Friday 24 June at 7pm at a presentation event held at Peninsula at Central Pier, Docklands.
