CLYDE’S newest shopping precinct will stock vegetables and herbs grown right around the corner.
Coles supermarket, a part of ‘Shopping on Clyde’, has committed to selling locally grown produce from some of Clyde’s well-known family farmers.
The store, which will officially open on Wednesday 2 December, is set to stock celery and leeks grown by Schreurs and Sons and herbs grown by Australian Fresh Leaf Herbs located on the Clyde-Five Ways Road.
Store manager Brett Hanna said the new store reflected Coles’ commitment to the local community.
“We’ve kept local families in mind with our product selection and store layout and we can’t wait to see their reaction to the new store,” he said.
The market style layout of the supermarket will feature in-store butchers and bakers an extensive cheese selection and continental delicatessen and has created more than 60 local jobs.
The supermarket opening co-incides with the unveiling of the entire centre, located at 280 Berwick-Cranbourne Road.
