Woman critical in pile up

A PEARCEDALE woman is fighting for her life following a three-car collision along Baxter-Tooradin Road on Tuesday afternoon.
The main road was closed for six hours in both directions following the crash which occurred at the intersection of West Road and Baxter-Tooradin Road in Pearcedale about 2pm.
A 54-year-old Pearcedale woman from one of the cars was airlifted to The Alfred hospital in a critical condition.
The driver of one vehicle, a 39-year-old Pearcedale man, was conveyed to The Alfred with non-life threatening injuries.
His passenger, a six-year-old boy was also conveyed to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.
Members of the Major Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene and are still investigating the circumstances around the collision.
Police have urged any witnesses to contact them.
