Grass fire brought under control

By Brendan Rees

Police are investigating a grass and shrub fire that occurred in Cranbourne East on Wednesday 27 March.

Emergency services were called to Arleon Crescent about 4.30pm.

No property was damaged and the exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined at this stage, police say.

An assembly of CFA fire appliances from Narre Warren, Hampton Park, Cranbourne, Hallam, and Berwick attended, bringing the blaze under control about 5pm.

CFA issued an advice message to residents at the time saying the bushfire travelled in a south-easterly direction towards Narre Warren Cranbourne Road with no threat to properties.
