A Cranbourne man has been arrested by detectives in relation to an alleged hit-run collision that seriously injured a young man in Collingwood on 2 September.

The 18-year-old was arrested by Yarra CIU detectives at a construction site in Dandenong on the morning of 13 September.

The hit-run occurred during a mass brawl among up to 200 people outside Gasometer Hotel, police say.

About 2am, a vehicle was said to have been driven erratically on Mater Street striking an 18-year-old male victim.

He suffered serious leg injuries and remains in hospital.

The arrested man is expected to be charged with conduct endangering life and intentionally causing serious injury.

Police have also raided an address in Fountain Drive, Narre Warren.

They are yet to speak with an 18-year-old man, who is believed to have been linked to the offending vehicle.
