Police will prepare a report for the Coroner after the body of a man was located in bushland near Blind Bight (near Tooradin) this afternoon.
Professional Standards Command will oversee the investigation as per standard protocol when there is a death in police presence.
The death is not being treated as suspicious.
Police were searching the bushland for a man who was threatening self-harm.
The man was armed with a firearm.
Traffic to Blind Bight was closed off and residents were asked to remain inside and lock their doors while the search continues.
Special Operations Group along with Critical Incident Response Team and local members were searching for the man.
