More than 100 people indulged in a morning cuppa for the Balla Balla Community Centre’s fifth annual Biggest Morning Tea fund-raiser.
The fund-raiser has become a staple event on the calendar for the community centre with participants having raised almost $10,000 since its inception in 2012.
This year featured guest speaker Casey Councillor Amanda Stapledon who spoke about cancer statistics and the impact of the illness on the community.
The event was led by MC Andy Reid of Stockdale and Leggo Cranbourne who is vice-president of the Balla Balla Community Centre’s Committee of governance.
Balla Balla Community Centre Community Development and Program co-ordinator Maree Davies said the day was a great success.
“A team of over 10 volunteers did an extraordinary job in setting up the room, providing a delicious morning tea for the guests and providing entertainment in the way of games and raffles,” Ms Davies said.
“As always, Maree Cullinan, the manager of Balla Balla Community Centre, did a great job co-ordinating this event.”
The team at Balla Balla and all that participated raised $1950 for the Cancer Council at their 2017 Biggest Morning Tea.
