THE Casey Cardinia Library Corporation has undergone a re-branding to bring the library into the 21st Century.
The new logo and focus for the libraries will see the libraries embracing the age of information gathering, but CEO Chris Buckingham says books will still be the main focus of the libraries.
“The role of libraries has changed dramatically over the last two decades, and we are embracing a consistent look and feel for our organisation that better represents who we are and how we engage with our local communities,” he said.
“Books will be at the heart of what we do for many years to come, but Casey Cardinia Libraries is going to increase its focus on providing safe, welcoming and happy places.”
The shift in brand focus will mean the library will have a greater emphasis on community engagement and creating safe environments for all community members.
“Our vision for Casey Cardinia Libraries is inspiring spaces where everyone is free to discover possibilities,” Mr Buckingham said.
“Libraries are one of the last bastions of the free, and we want people to come to our libraries to gather knowledge, share ideas and enjoy a first rate service.”
While the new branding is rolled out over the various library services in the next three months, the first initiative of the new business focus is underway at all the branches.
The Casey Cardinia Library Corporation has established ‘forgiving tress’ at their branches that see overdue book and other fines waived when people donate to the library’s Christmas food and toy drive.
