Monash Health and the City of Casey are rolling out a Healthy Canteen pilot project across the region.
The concept aims to increase the number of healthy options available in sports clubs canteens.
Endeavour Hills Junior Football Club, Lyndhurst Football Netball Club and The Casey Comets are already leading the way.
The project provides advice from an accredited practicing dietitian from Monash Health.
Health Promotion Practitioner, Alyce Cuman said: “Sports clubs are in a unique position to influence the health of their community by improving the food they supply.”
“We hope this pilot will show sports clubs and the community that with small changes to menu items, the canteen can increase the number of healthy food on offer.”
