A MAN was trapped in his car for 45 minutes while emergency services tried to free him from his smashed Ford sedan on the South Gippsland Freeway.
The driver, aged in his fifties, was taken by paramedics to the Dandenong Hospital in a stable condition with chest injuries.
An Ambulance Victoria spokesman said the man ran off the road and hit a tree in the median strip in Tooradin on Anzac Day, about 1.45pm.
No-one else was believed to be injured in the crash.
