Fashion flair on parade

Last year’s Cranbourne Fashions on the Field was hotly contested with competitors, Tea Blagojevic, Roslyn Czermak, Jenny Beard and Ashleigh Barrie coming out on top.

SHOW off your fashion flair at the TAB Cranbourne Cup.
Calling all fashionistas – it’s time to put your spring racing ensemble together and get ready to strut your stuff in this year’s Cranbourne Fashions on the Field.
It’s one of the highlights of the TAB Cranbourne Cup held on Sunday 11 October, and this year the competition will be sure to heat with $5000 worth of prizes up for grabs across two categories.
Lady of the Day and Young Lady of the Day will be crowned along with Best Millinery prize which is chosen from contestants across both categories.
Fashionable fillies will be competing for a broad range of prizes from major sponsors including Review, Ella Bache Cranbourne, Brazilian Butterfly, De Bortoli Wines and Felicity Northeast Millinery.
Casting their eyes over the line-up this year will be former Myer Fashions on the Field ambassador, and daughter of Black Caviar co-owner Pam Hawkes, one of the faces of Flemington’s Playground of Racing Royalty campaign, Alison Saville sitting alongside 2014 Face of Mornington Racing Club, model and milliner Caitrin O’Rourke and trainer and assistant trainer at Ken Keys Racing, Kasey Keys.
Ms Saville said she was looking forward to seeing the wonderful spring racing fashion on display at the TAB Cranbourne Cup.
“As I judge I look for the total package; an outfit that shows someone’s own personal style, is ladylike and is on trend with the latest cuts and colours.
“The outfit should really complement the person and be appropriate for the day and the weather,” Ms Saville explained, adding that co-ordinating colours is also important for the overall look.
“It’s all about the finer details as well, ensuring your headwear, handbag and shoes co-ordinate with your outfit and don’t forget personal grooming, ensuring your make-up and hair is nicely done,” she said.
Along with an experienced line-up of judges, Marlee Horobin, from Peter Horobin Saddlery and Marlee May handbags will MC the event.
Ladies can register at the Fashions on the Field enclosure on the day between 11.30am and 12.15pm or pre-register at www.cranbourneturfclub.com.au.
Heats for Young Lady of the Day will kick off about 12.30pm, with the final to follow directly after.
