Some mother had him

By BRIDGET COOK

TAKE a trip down memory lane when a tribute show to Frank Spencer comes to Cranbourne next month.
Comedian and performer John Bunker is performing his comedy show ‘Some mothers wished they hadn’t’ at the Balla Balla Community Centre on Saturday 6 September.
The show pays homage to Frank Spencer, that star of television show ‘Some Mothers do ‘Ave ‘Em’, which was a popular show in the UK and around the world in the 1970s.
Mr Bunker said the likeness between him and Frank Spencer was uncanny, and urged any fans of the show to come along for an entertaining night out.
“Frank Spencer, the well-meaning, injury-prone man is now on stage,” he said.
“If you loved him or just found him infuriating, this show is not to be missed.
“To some of you this will be a trip down memory lane, back to a time when things were so simple.
“To the newcomers, come and see how one man could get things so wrong, but still put a smile on your face.
“After you have seen this show you will think you were back at the BBC watching a recording of Frank Spencer, the likeness is uncanny.
“Plus one lucky lady gets to be Betty, as well as some others who will help Frank with some of his pantomime.”
The show will take place at 7.15pm on Saturday 6 September.
Tickets cost $14, with $2 from each ticket going towards local CFA branches.
Tickets can be purchased on the night or by visiting www.frankspencer.net.
