LOOKING for the purrfect companion?
Hampton Park’s 2nd Chance Cat Rescue is hosting an adoption day this weekend to help find new homes for more than 40 kittens and cats it currently has in its care.
The charity has teamed up with Lynbrook Animal Supplies to run an adoption day at the business from 11am to 2pm on Saturday.
Group founder Daniela Maslen said the rescue centre had more than 40 felines and she has urged those looking for a new cat to come along to the adoption day.
“On our adoption day we mainly bring kittens in,” she said.
“Maybe Sleeping Beauty will make a special appearance on the day.
“She is a beautiful calico cat who is about a year old.
“She has been busy looking after her sister’s babies and then all the other kittens which have come in so far this kitten season.
“She is a very affectionate, beautiful cat who needs to find a loving home.
“Due to more people looking to buy a kitten, we are limited with spaces when taking adult cats in.”
Ms Maslen said 2nd Chance was always looking for new volunteers and foster carers for the kittens and cats.
“I started 2nd Chance Cat Rescue in July 2011 and so far we have rehomed over 300 cats and kittens,” she said.
“We are growing bigger and bigger but need the help of the public.
“We love helpers who volunteer their time and we need dedicated foster carers.”
The adoption day will be held at Lynbrook Animal Supplies, 9 Chapel Street, Lynbrook.
All animals come de-sexed, micro chipped, vaccinated and vet checked and are available for $150 for cats and $200 for kittens.
