Expo has youth at heart

THE wedding bells will be ringing loud and clear this month for the fourth annual YMCA Wedding Expo.
Roughly 30 exhibitors from the south-east’s wedding industry will be showcased at the event, held at Amberlee Receptions in Cranbourne, with all proceeds going to the YMCA Youth Mentoring program.
YMCA Youth Mentoring manager for Casey Rebecca Graham said the YMCA was looking forward to another successful exhibition, with several new exhibitors jumping on board to promote their products and services.
“The event will allow those who are planning their wedding day the chance to shop around in one convenient location,” she said.
“Visitors will be given passport cards to be stamped at each stall in order to maximise stall visits for local business exhibitors on the night.”
The exhibition will be held on Thursday 10 October, from 6pm to 8.30pm, for a $5 entry fee.
Ms Graham said the Wedding Expo was really starting to find its feet and that the organisers now knew how much work was required to make sure it was a successful event.
“We’ve found out how to manage our funds and how much money we need for the event,” she said.
“We really know how it’s going and how to prepare for it.
“The Wedding Expo would be our biggest fundraiser.”
The YMCA Youth Mentoring program supports young people who are assessed as ‘at risk’ in the community by matching them with an adult volunteer mentor, who helps guide them to make positive life choices and achieve their maximum potential.
