EIGHTEEN of Casey’s most talented young performers will sing and dance their way to the top in the hope of becoming Casey’s Idol.
Performers in the Open and Primary categories will battle it out at the Casey Idol Final next month to be announced Casey’s best performer.
More than 60 acts including singers, dancers and bands strutted their stuff at the recent Casey Idol auditions.
Casey mayor Colin Butler said the auditions showcased some of the city’s amazing talent.
“It was fantastic to be able to conduct the auditions at a professional venue, Council’s new purpose-built rehearsal centre for the arts The Factory, located at the Casey Indoor Leisure Complex in Cranbourne East,” Cr Butler said.
“The Casey Idol Final is shaping up to be a performing arts spectacular so I encourage everyone to come along.
“Not only will you and your family enjoy a great night’s entertainment but you’ll also be supporting local not-for-profit groups and organisations as all proceeds from the concert will go back in our community through the Mayoral Charity Fund.”
The Casey Idol Final will be held at 7pm on Saturday, 2 June at Arthur Wren Hall, Stuart Avenue in Hampton Park.
Tickets cost $5 each and are available at the door from 4pm.
