Kinder kids visit station

IT WAS a fiery week for some Hampton Park preschoolers last week who visited the local fire station.
The children from Valley Brook Preschool spent the week learning about fire safety.
Preschool director and four-year-old teacher Diana Bellion said the kids learnt everything from ‘stop, drop and roll’ to ‘get down low and go, go, go’ and not to play with matches.
They also learnt about community helpers and were encouraged to not be scared of firefighters in their uniforms as they were there to help.
Ms Bellion said the most exciting part of the week was when the kids walked to the Hampton Park Fire Station on Friday.
“They loved it,” she said. “It was a really hands-on activity. They looked at the fire truck, opened up the compartments and held a hose.”
She thanked the CFA volunteers who gave their time to explain about fire safety to the children.
Valley Brook Preschool is located at 2 Brook Court, Hampton Park, and runs three and four-year-old kinder. Phone 9799 0230.
