Siege resolved peacefully

POLICE spent all night outside a Pearcedale home after a man threatened to shoot himself.
The Pearcedale man, 46, had had an argument with his family when he produced a double barrel shotgun and threatened to take his life.
His family fled the property and police were called to the Feltham Street house just after midnight on Monday.
The Force Response Unit and the Special Operations Group attended and successfully resolved the matter.
The man gave himself up to police about 10.30am and was taken for a medical assessment at Casey Hospital.
Police said the man was still being assessed and investigations were proceeding regarding possible offences.
Anyone with additional information can contact Detective Senior Constable Mick Van Hammond at Cranbourne CIU on 5991 0600.
