A woman and infant were rushed to hospital after reportedly being attacked by a greyhound in Cranbourne on Saturday morning 2 February.
Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman Lana Wilson said paramedics were called were called to the scene.
“An infant was assessed for upper body injuries. They were taken to The Royal Children’s Hospital in a stable condition. she said.
“A woman in her thirties was also assessed for lower body injuries and was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a stable condition.”
Casey manager of safer communities Caroline Bell said the greyhound was formally surrendered to council by its owner to be destroyed.
“Council is continuing with its investigation into the attack,” she said.
