The Cricket Victoria Harmony in cricket Association (HiCA) grand final was played on Sunday 7 October at Carlisle Park Vikings Cricket Club in Cranbourne.
The league was played in the City if Casey with 30 teams playing through the winter months to stay fit and connected with friends and family.
After 72 league and qualifying games the top two sides, Jalandhar Lions Cricket Club and Melbourne Tigers Cricket Club playing off for the final with Jalandhar Lions winning in the final over.
A strong crowd of 900 people witnessed a great game of cricket which also included children clinics and a special visit from the Melbourne Stars mascot Starman.
“All the cricketers from this competition reside in the Casey area and to have a great opportunity to use this initiative as a pathway to local clubs to play cricket in the summer,” Cricket Victoria multicultural officer Hussain Hanif said.
“Thank you to Cr Rex Flannery, the City of Casey and Carlisle Park Vikings Cricket Club for hosting the event.”
City of Casey will be hosting the Melbourne Stars Family Day that will take place on Sunday 16 December at Casey Fields from 11.30am to 3.30pm.
It will also host the Melbourne Stars League (MSL) final on the family day bringing the best multicultural female and male players representing their country of origin India, Afghanistan, Greece, Sri Lanka and Nepal engaging in year one.
