A 20-year-old Lynbrook man has died following a workplace incident in Cranbourne West on Thursday 4 October.

In a statement, Worksafe says it is believed the apprentice was working with power tools at a transport vehicle servicing yard in Whitfield Boulevard when he was “overcome with fumes” in the confined space, about 10am.

A Victoria Ambulance spokeswoman said three men aged in their thirties, forties and fifties were taken by road ambulance to Dandenong Hospital in a stable condition.

Worksafe and police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.

The death brings the number of workplace fatalities for the year to 21, compared to 20 at this time last year.
