History group celebrates a year at Cranbourne Library

The Narre Warren and District Family History Group are celebrating the first anniversary of their move to Cranbourne Library on Monday, 24 September from 10.30am to 3pm.

“Our move to the Cranbourne Library has been very successful,” Narre Warren and District Family History Group president Lynne Bradley said.

“Our membership and meeting attendance is up, while our members are really enjoying our new research room.”

Casey Cardinia Libraries CEO Chris Buckingham said, “It has been a great first year – we love having the Narre Warren and District Family History Group and the Casey Cardinia Libraries History Archive in the Cranbourne Library.

“Together they provide an amazing community resource that is well worth celebrating.”

Local History Librarian Heather Arnold said the group loves sharing information and hearing people’s stories about the local area.

Everyone is welcome to drop-in and use the service which opens on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 11am to 3pm.

The group will be celebrating with cake and are offering free expert advice on local history and genealogical research.
