POLICE are on the hunt for a man who tried to kidnap a teenage boy in Hampton Park last week.
At about midday on Wednesday 10 October, a 16-year-old boy from Hampton Park was approached by a man in a red Mitsubishi Magna on Oaktree Drive.
The man asked the boy for directions, which the boy gave him.
The man said he could not quite hear him and when the boy walked closer to the car, the man grabbed the boy by the arm and told him to get into the car.
The boy pulled away and told the man to “f— off”.
The man opened the car door, got out and tried to grab the boy by the shirt, but the teenager punched the man to the face, causing him to fall back into the car, and he then drove off.
The man was described as Caucasian, with an olive complexion, aged about 30 to 40, 185 centimetres tall with a goatee, brown curly hair, acne, wearing prescription glasses, a black beanie and Holden jacket.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Detective Senior Constable Mark Wiederhold at Cranbourne CIU on 5991 0661 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
