‘Baiting scandal’ track hits the market

The Tooradin Trial Track, owned by suspended greyhound trainer Stuart Hills, is up for sale.

THE Tooradin greyhound track implicated in the live baiting scandal is up for sale.
The Tooradin Trial Track, owned by suspended greyhound trainer Stuart Hills, hit the market on Friday after hidden camera footage exposed it as a site of live baiting in an ABC report.
The track, on Harewood Road, is listed on the market for $945,000 and spans 40 acres.
At the start of May, Greyhound Racing Victoria charged seven Tooradin trainers following the scandal.
GRV stewards laid 33 charges against seven of the 15 trainers who were suspended after RSPCA officers raided the Tooradin Trial Track in February.
Days after the raid, the ABC’s Four Corners program aired damning footage from various Australian tracks of piglets, possums and rabbits being strapped to lures and ripped apart as live-bait to blood greyhounds.
Christopher Connolly, Dennis Dean, Brett Mackie, Darren McDonald, Anthony Mills, Jon Roberts and Eric Sykes will answer “serious offences” under GRV Local Racing Rules and Greyhounds Australasia Rules.
