Libraries have advice, too

TEENS and adults affected by divorce, financial issues or relationship issues can seek support at their local libraries.
Free self-help booklets will be available at Casey Cardinia libraries thanks to Child Support Agency (CSA).
“We started with a couple of books and they were very successful, so we have added to the range,” team leader Frankston CSA Harry Hemmes said.
“The books are a great form of support and have been fantastically received.”
Mr Hemmes said the books directed at teens may also be useful for parents, providing tips and guidelines for communicating with their child during a difficult time.
“Divorce can be quite difficult on not only the adults but on their children,” he said. “The important thing is to try to make the experience less traumatic.”
Booklets about dealing with financial hardships and tips to stretch your dollar further are also available at the libraries.
“The books are readily available so people can take them home and read them at their own pace in their own time,” he said.
