Lucas leaves them for dead with a great round at Lang Lang

LANG LANG GOLF

It would take something special to be the Monthly Medal winner at Lang Lang Golf Club on Saturday with a huge field of 172 players enjoying the glorious weather conditions on course.

It was Bill Lucas (18) who produced his very best, winning the medal with a fantastic score of 42 points.

Brandon Gardiner (6) was the Gross winner with a great score of 73 off the stick.

Saturday’s daily grade winners were:

A Grade: JJ Jenkins (9) with 40 points.

B Grade: Bill Lucas (18) with 42 points.

C Grade: Denis Rossetti (25) with 40 points.

The week teed off with the seventh round of the Par Super Series.

Tony Ambrus (10) won A Grade honours with 0 on a countback, with John Mills (2) right on his heels also square with the card.

Charlie Love took out B grade with +2 on a countback, with visitor Jack Keating from Phillip Island runner up also on +2.

Pluses and minuses were once again the story of the day for Wednesday’s Par event.

Maria Warburton (24) was the overall winner on -2 on a countback.

A cracker of a day on Thursday saw 91 take to the course for a stableford competition and a Two-Ball Best Ball comp.

The individual stableford winner was Paul Moore (24) on an impressive 41 points, followed by Peter Abraham (21) on 39 points; while the Two-Ball Best Ball winning team was Noel Bradford and Nick Hock on 49 points.

The Tooradin Cricket Club took over the course on Sunday for their annual social event.

It was a great event, with 68 players enjoying a shotgun start.

A great day of golf was had by the Seagulls’ contingent, who enjoyed the excellent clubhouse food and hospitality.

Congratulations to Tyler Evans, Seth O’Hehir, Joel Anderson and Tyson Twite…the Tooradin Cricket Club’s very-deserving winners.
