Cranbourne teacher’s head spins following $200,000 Lucky Lotteries win

A Cranbourne teacher’s morning tea duty took an unexpected turn when an official from The Lott rang and revealed he’d chalked up a $200,000 win on the Lucky Lotteries draw.

The Melburnian held the 1st Prize winning entry in Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw 1765, drawn Monday 8 February.

He looks forward to a total prize of $200,000.

“Oh wow!” he gasped when an official from The Lott confirmed his prize.

“The news has got my head spinning.

“I’m a teacher, and $200,000 is just life-changing for me. I was just about to head out on my morning tea duty. I can’t believe it.

“I’ve been playing Lucky Lotteries on and off for a couple of years now, and this is just incredible.”

With $200,000 soon to boost his bank account, the gleeful educator shared that the prize would go towards a family holiday and buying his first property.

“Well, my family has been talking about doing a big holiday together, so I might be able to surprise a few of them and have their airfares covered,” he said.

“It will also be a huge step towards property ownership for me.”

His winning entry of seven random numbers was purchased via The Lott app, the official home of Australia’s lotteries.

The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $24.16 million for draw 1766, while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot prize is now $890,003 for draw 11060.

Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot and Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot are raffle-style games, which means there is a set number of tickets in each draw.

As each ticket number is unique, there is no sharing of prizes.

In 2025, more than 121.6 million winners took home more than $3.93 billion in prize money from their favourite games at The Lott, including TattsLotto, Weekday Windfall, Powerball, Oz Lotto, Set for Life, Lucky Lotteries, Keno (SA), Super 66, Lotto Strike and Instant Scratch-Its.
