LANG LANG GOLF

It has been a very busy start to the New Year at Lang Lang Golf Club with favourable weather conditions making the course a very nice place to be.

Lang Lang has welcomed a huge amount of guests and visitors alike over the festive period and it’s been great to see so many new faces around the club.

The course remains in top-notch condition and the freshly updated clubrooms or the deck provide a nice place for a cold drink after the round.

Results for the week are as follows:

• Monday Stableford

Visitor Mark Sugden (Box Hill GC) scored 41 points to win by six shots from Wayne Thomas.

Ball rundown to 33 points.

• Tuesday Stableford

In Division 1, John Johnson scored 42 points to win via countback from Rod Cameron.

In Division 2, Dean Rogers (Sandhurst GC) scored 40 points for a one-shot victory over runner up Nick Dryden (Cheltenham GC).

Ball rundown to 36 points.

Nearest the pins went to 5th Brenton Adams, 9th Steve Dunn, 12th Dean Rogers and 15th John Sheehan.

• Wednesday Stableford

Tim Maskew scored 39 points to win via a countback over Andrew Meier from Cranbourne GC.

Ball rundown to 30 points.

Nearest the pins went to 5th Jason Boyd and 15th Kerrie Davey.

• Thursday Stableford

In Division 1, Craig Taberner scored 37 points to win by one over runner up Stephen Rawlings on 36 points.

In Division 2, Brian Tollkuhn played brilliantly to score 41 points to win by a solitary shot over Gavin Bock on 40 points.

In Division 3, John Dodorico (Trafalgar GC) matched Tollkuhn’s score of 41 points to win by one shot over Fia Tootoo.

Ball rundown to 36 points.

Nearest the pins went to 5th Tom Condy, 9th Rob Bradshaw, 12th Brian Tollkuhn and 15th Steve Bray.

• Friday Stableford

Jason Hester scored 42 points to win by two shots from runner up Tim Maskew on 40 points.

• Saturday Monthly Medal – Stroke

A huge field of 189 competitors took to the field to contend for the Monthly Medal with one very excited Peter Dovaston being the overall winner with a fantastic score of nett 62.

Conditions were perfect although it was on the warmer side, with the breeze providing some relief from the heat. The very deserving winners were as follows:

Division 1: Winner John Johnson nett 66 on a countback from Warren Krahe.

Division 2: Winner Blake Batt nett 65, runner up Brock Mottrom nett 66.

Division 3: Winner Peter Dovaston nett 62, runner up Tom Condy nett 65.
