Ballarto Road to receive multi-million dollar upgrade

Ballarto Road in Clyde is receiving $4.25 million in road rehabilitation works including road widening, resealing and improved drainage.

Road and lane closures are expected over the next six months before the works are completed.

Minister for Roads and Road Safety Ben Carroll said the 5km stretch of road is located between Tuckers Road and Tooradin Station Road.

“We know how important Ballarto Road is to locals and freight operators in Melbourne’s south-east, that is why we are rolling out vital maintenance works to ensure a safer and more robust road,” Mr Carroll said.

“Road rehabilitations across the arterial network continue to be a key focus in our maintenance efforts to ensure reliability for all motorists.”

Bass MP Jordan Crugnale said it was vital that Ballarto Road is made safer for the thousands of motorists who use it each day.

“We thank the community for their patience while we complete this stretch of road rehabilitation to ensure it has continued capacity to accommodate current and future traffic volumes,” she said.

Additional road sealing will take place between Twyford Road and Beaszley Road.
