Locals have been put on notice, with Covid warnings hitting the south east.
On Thursday 27 May the Victorian Department of Health added LeNails in Cranbourne as a Tier 1 exposure site – one of more than 120 exposure sites listed across the state as of Friday 28 May.
A positive case attended the venue located in the Cranbourne Park Shopping Centre on Saturday 22 May between 1.15pm and 2.15pm.
As a Tier 1 exposure sight, anyone who attended the salon within this period is required to get tested immediately and and quarantine for 14 days from the exposure.
LeNails and Cranbourne Park Shopping Centre were contacted for comment but were unavailable.
The announcement comes as two positive cases were confirmed within the City of Casey.
According to the Covid Live website, one person has tested positive in the 3977 postcode which includes the suburbs of Botanic Ridge, Cannons Creek, Cranbourne, Cranbourne East, Cranbourne North, Cranbourne South, Cranbourne West, Devon Meadows, Junction Village, Sandhurst and Skye.
There is also an active case in postcode 3806, which includes the suburbs of Berwick and Harkaway.
City of Casey Chair of Administrators Noelene Duff PSM released a statement on the newest Covid outbreak in the region.
“The City of Casey has, and will continue to do whatever we can to support the efforts to stop the spread of COVID-19, and will comply fully with the advice, orders, and directions from State Government health experts and the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS),” Ms. Duff said.
“Council and DHHS have played a very active role in ensuring we keep our residents healthy and has shared a range of messages on various platforms, including translated communications for our culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities, about staying safe in a COVID-19 world.
“We encourage anyone with even the mildest of symptoms to get tested, stay home until you get your results and to adhere to the current public health restrictions (seven-day lockdown) as put in place by the Victorian State Government.
“We will continue to work with health experts to achieve the best outcome for our city, and do whatever we can to support our local communities, including local businesses, which are all feeling the adverse impacts of the COVID-19 restrictions. Locally we have and are continuing to support the Casey community through a number of initiatives.”
Covid testing is available at Casey Fields in Cranbourne East, and Akoonah Park in Berwick.
A mass vaccination centre is open at Cranbourne Turf Club.
There may be lengthy wait times at vaccination and testing sites, and on the State Government’s coronavirus hotline.
On Thursday 27 May, the Victorian Government announced it would open vaccinations to those aged between 40 and 49.
