Friday the 13th might be your lucky day!

Birdie is one-year-old charming, sweet cat who is always “down for a chat” but there’s one thing missing in her life – a loving home.

She has been at the Lost Dogs’ Home in Cranbourne for the past four months without anyone expressing interest in adopting her.

Like her name says, Birdie is ready to spread her wings and leave shelter life behind.

She is hoping that lucky day will come on Friday 13 March when the Cranbourne shelter holds a special three-day adoption event.

To help find forever homes for many cats and kittens in need, the shelter will offer these beautiful animals to adopt for free.

“We know there are lots of caring people in the south east who can open their heart to these kitties in need,” spokeswoman Suzana Talevski at The Lost Dogs’ Home said.

“If you are ready to welcome a new pet into your home, there is no better way than adopting a homeless cat or kitten in need of a second chance.”

Currently in the midst of kitten season, 170 cats and kittens are in need of new homes at our Cranbourne site, with more becoming available for adoption almost every day.

“With a huge variety of ages and personality types, you are bound to find your perfect furry friend,” said Ms Talevski.

All cats and kittens available for adoption are desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, and up to date with flea and worming treatments.

The Cranbourne event is on from the 13-15th March, with extended hours to 4pm on the Saturday.

Cats and kittens available for adoption can be viewed online at dogshome.com or contact the shelter on 9702 8055.
