As part of a global focus on diabetes, the Lions Club of Cranbourne will hold a walk this weekend to encourage a healthy lifestyle.

On Sunday 17 November, residents can join the Lions Club in Lap the Map, a self-paced, low level walk down the Cranbourne Main Street.

Diabetes is a key area of focus for Lions Clubs in 2019.Clubs across the country will hold similar walking events. Clubs will then report the length of their ‘Lap the Map’ walks with the aim of moving a combined distance that exceeds Australia’s circumference of 25,760 kilometres.

The walk will also raise awareness of Australia’ diabetes epidemic and promote a healthy lifestyle.

Refreshments are available and a healthy burger sizzle will be held at the end of the walk.

“It’s a great cause and a great way to get some tips on living a healthy lifestyle. And just take a stroll down main street, meet some great people and have a healthy BBQ at the end!” Cranbourne Lions president Alisha Austin said.

Walkers can meet at Cranbourne Senior Citizen’s Hall, 1 Codrington St, Cranbourne on Sunday 17 November. Registration opens at 10.30 am and is by gold coin donation.
