Students sparkle for deb ball

Dressed in dashing suits and glamourous white gowns, students of Cranbourne East’s Marnebek School stepped onto the stage for their debutante ball on Friday 13 September.

Eleven couples had nine weeks of learning the Debutante Waltz, Social Jive and Cha Cha.

Special guests Casey mayor Amanda Stapledon and horticulture teacher Pete Mantell presented the students with a certificate following their dances.

The group enjoyed the night to remember with student Ashleigh saying the highlight was being partnered with her great friend, Lachlan.

Student Sophie said learning all the dances with dance teacher Sam Baker “was so much fun” while Tyler said he enjoyed making new friendships with the other debutantes.

Teacher and co-ordinator Nicole Dinsdale said: “The students remembered all the dances and all the family members and staff that attended the night were so proud.”
