Man hit by car

A man is in a critical condition after he was hit by a car in Clyde on Monday morning, 1 April.

Emergency services were called to Clyde-Five Ways Road just after 5am.

The man, thought to be aged in his thirties, suffered head, neck and chest injuries, an Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman said.

He was flown by air ambulance helicopter to The Alfred Hospital.

All lanes are now open both directions on the South Gippsland Highway near Clyde-Five Ways Road after emergency services closed the highway to allow safe landing for the air ambulance.

VicRoads says delays will take some time to ease through the area and to allow extra time.
