Man pulled from wreckage

A teenager has been hospitalised after allegedly falling asleep at the wheel and crashing into a tree on Western Port Road in Cranbourne West on Friday the 8 March.

Police allege the vehicle drifted off the road into a large gum tree causing it to burst into flames about 9.45am.

The driver, the only occupant of the vehicle, was removed by witnesses as the flames started a grass fire. Skye CFA attended and quickly contained the blaze before it spread to adjacent farm land.

A man in his late teens was taken by road ambulance to Frankston Hospital in a stable condition and with an injury to his abdominal region.
