A gift of giving

A generous donation of hand-crafted toys will bring more smiles to children this Christmas and disadvantaged families.

VCAL students at Hampton Park Secondary College have been busy making wooden toys as part of a numeracy project, which were all donated to Hampton Park Community House on Thursday 18 October during a presentation ceremony.

A board game of noughts and crosses, trucks, a rocking horse, work tools and even a billy-cart were among the items donated.

Later Years Pathways Leader Darryn O’Connor said he was impressed with the efforts of the students.

“This was the final project for the 2018 Senior VCAL class at Hampton Park and the students worked hard to make sure their finished products were first class so their donations could make a difference in the community,” he said.

Hampton Park Community House manager Tania Sacco graciously accepted the donations, saying the toys would go towards the childcare facility, families in need assistance at Christmas time, and also be auctioned off to raise funds to support the Community House.
