Hundreds of people turned out to raise funds for Blairlogie Living and Learning organisation’s annual open day on Sunday 21 October.

There was plenty for the family to see and do including performances from the Balla Balla Ukes, BAM All Stars dance troup, Kellie De Stefano singing, and Matt Stone keeping the crowds going with sing-a-long favourites.

The event attracted crowds of about 1500 people, which was blessed with blue skies, leading manager Beverley Connor to say the day was a great success.

“The annual open day is our major fundraiser for the year but we also use it as a day to showcase our facility and services to the broader community,” she said.

There were displays from the Pearcedale Fire Brigade, Port Phillip Historical Machinery Society Inc, Cranbourne Casey Mens Shed, a local group of motorcycle riders, and vintage vehicles including tractors, vans, trucks and caravan.

The event also featured market stalls, a jumping castle, spinning wheel, trash and treasure, hot food, tilleys cups, raffle, plants, and vegetables which all were donated by local growers fresh from their farms.

Cakes, slices, muffins and scones were made by staff and friends.

“We were sponsored by the Pearcedale Community Bank Branch of the Bendigo Bank for the day as well as receiving many donations from the local community,” Ms Beverley said.

Blairlogie, which si based in Cranbourne South has been supporting people with a disability since 1987, offering a wide range of services and supports for those aged between five and 65 years.

All money raised will go towards purchasing equipment and resources for the people Blairlogie supports.
