Heroes and villains come to life

There were dinosaurs, Goldilocks and the three bears, and even Harry Potter at Tooradin Primary School’s Book Week celebrations.

There was a buzz of excitement among students as they were free to dress-up as their favourite children’s book character on Friday 10 August.

School teacher Rachel Davis said it was great for the students of all ages to apply their creative talents to dress-up.

“Children and staff delighted in sharing their costumes and stories, cheering each other’s efforts as they parade around the school gym,” she said.

Other wacky characters included Veruca Salt from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Thing 1 and Thing 2, and robots.

Throughout the week the students were immersed in daily mystery stories, a book fair, grandparent’s day and even a pyjama day with favourite stories to be shared.

“This will be a week to remember, celebrating the magic and wonder of stories,” Ms Davis said.
