Teens caught following robbery

A 17-year-old Cranbourne boy was among three teens charged following an alleged robbery and car theft in Cheltenham on Tuesday 7 August.

Investigators have been told a Bentleigh East man was approached by four males as he withdrew cash from an ATM on Chesterville Road just after 10pm, with the group allegedly assaulting him and taking off with his cash, credit card and Land Rover.

Police arrested three males in Pakenham about 10pm on Wednesday 9 August after they were allegedly found in the stolen vehicle.

A fourth teenager was arrested shortly after while boarding a bus at Pakenham Railway Station.

A 19-year-old Officer man has been charged with theft of motor vehicle, handle stolen goods and unlicensed driving.

He has been bailed to appear at Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on 8 October.

A 17-year-old Cranbourne boy and 14-year-old Pakenham boy were both charged with two counts of theft of motor vehicle, aggravated carjacking, armed robbery and assault.

They will appear at a children’s court at a later date.

A 17-year-old Dandenong North boy has been released pending summons.
