CCTV catches petrol thief

Cranbourne police hope CCTV images will identify a man allegedly involved in a petrol drive off on 27 June.

It’s believed the man filled up his car with petrol at BP service station on Thompsons Road and drove off, making no attempt at payment at 11.15am.Police say the front number of the vehicle SRU307 was stolen from Springhill Shopping Centre in late June and no rear number plate was affixed to the vehicle.

Police have released CCTV stills of a male and vehicle who may be able to assist with their investigation.
