Four teenagers have been arrested after allegedly stealing cigarettes from two supermarkets overnight.
The four males were seen in an alleged stolen vehicle by police on Berwick-Cranbourne Road, Cranbourne about 12.20am.
The car allegedly failed to stop for police.
Police say a pursuit was not initiated.
A short time later, two males got out of the car on Coral Drive, Hampton Park and were chased down by police on foot, police say.
The vehicle fled and was followed by police to Dandenong Bypass near Chapel Road, Keysborough.
The two other males were arrested at the scene just before 1am.
A 15-year-old Noble Park boy, a 19-year-old Clayton South man, a 17-year-old Seaford boy and a 16-year-old Keysborough boy are assisting with enquiries, police say.
