Motorcyclist dies in Cranbourne crash

Police are seeking the driver of a car possibly linked to a fatal motorcycle crash in Cranbourne overnight (2 May).

The male rider was travelling south on South Gippsland Highway when his motorbike left the roadway about 11.25pm, police say.

He was treated by emergency services but died prior to being taken to hospital.

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the crash.

They wish to speak to the driver of a red sedan seen immediately prior to the crash.

Police are also investigating a car fire in the car park of Rangebank Primary School, Lesdon Avenue, Cranbourne just after 4.30am this morning (3 May).

No link has yet been confirmed with the earlier fatal crash, police say.
