Safety first in Lynbrook

By Cam Lucadou-Wells

Community safety is on the agenda at a Neighbourhood Watch Casey forum in Lynbrook.
The forum will feature presentations and Q&A with members from Victoria Police, CFA, Neighbourhood Watch and City of Casey.
NWC chairman Rob Ward expected safety at Lynbrook railway station and loitering in the shopping precinct would be part of the discussion.
“It’s a chance to talk about issues specific to the area,” he said.
“Whatever needs to be done to make people feel safe.”
Tribute will be paid to the late Jen Baird, a Lynbrook local who was a driving force of Neighbourhood Watch Casey.
The forum is the first in a series of similar events in Endeavour Hills, Narre Warren North, Clyde North, Berwick and Cranbourne in coming months.
The issues varied from area to area, Mr Ward said.
In Narre Warren North, residents lived on large blocks and were remote from neighbours.
In Clyde North, the under-construction homes were being targeted by burglars.
The NWC forum is at Lynbrook Community Centre, 2 Harris Street, Lynbrook on Thursday, 12 April, 7.30pm.
