A young man wearing a distinctive jacket and face covering has left a petrol station empty-handed after attempting to rob it.
Just before midnight on Thursday 12 January, the man entered the petrol station on Ormond Road in Hampton Park brandishing a knife.
He demanded the shop attendant hand over the cash in the till, but the attendant quickly locked himself in the office of the store.
The young man quickly left the store after realising his plans had been foiled. The would-be robber was wearing a distinctively patterned jacket over his head and a grey patterned scarf which was wrapped around his face and neck.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Detective Sergeant Chris Lewis at Casey Crime Investigation Unit on 9705 3114 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
