Teen faces court over raids

An 18-year-old Hampton Park man is due to appear in Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today (Thursday) following a two-month crime spree.
The crimes included a robbery at a liquor outlet in Hampton Park on 22 December.
The crimes began on 12 December with an attempted armed robbery in Ashwood and the theft of a motor vehicle.
The same day there were two armed robberies at service stations in Burwood and Mount Waverley, and armed robberies at fast food outlets in Mount Waverley, Laverton North and Elsternwick on 12 December.
There was then a theft of a motor vehicle from a home in Sandhurst on 5 February and on 7 February there was an attempted armed robbery at a service station in Kew East and two armed robberies at service stations in Mount Waverley and Chadstone.
Armed robberies at fast food outlets in Altona Meadows and Chelsea Heights followed on 8 February.
Eastern Region Crime Squad detectives arrested a male in relation to the incidents.
