A RELATIVELY new post office has taken out its well established competitors and was announced as the Victorian Central Network Post Office of the Year.
Brothers, Keith and Rod Norman, were ecstatic when they found out the Lynbrook post Office was announced as the recipient of this award.
Keith explained there are a number of criteria to fulfil in order to achieve the award, such as customer feedback, cash management and security.
Australia Post runs surveys every few months throughout the year and the award is granted based on these results.
Keith said he and brother Rod previously worked at another post office, but started this one from scratch.
“This makes us more chuffed because we’ve beaten other established post offices,” he said.
Keith said Australia Post approached the brothers to manage the post office in Lynbrook village and they have done so for the past two and a half years.
“To win an award in our second year, we were wrapped,” Keith said.
Darryl Billing, the network area manager presented the award to the excited pair on Tuesday.
“We’ve worked really hard and we were wrapped to be recognised,” he said.
“It was nice to have our hard work acknowledged.”
