TOORADIN Primary School marked Education Week in style recently with a range of activities to celebrate.
Education Week, held between 19 and 25 May, is a state-wide celebration of public education in Victoria.
Tooradin Primary School kicked off its celebrations with a Pyjama Day, where students and staff donned their sleepwear and shared their favourite bedtime stories throughout the day with buddy grades.
Wednesday was Education Week Open Morning, where families were invited to join regular classes, and future students and their families were given tours of the school by the school captains.
Thursday afternoon saw students sharing in art activities across the school, working in mixed age groups, so that the students could work together and support each other’s learning.
On Thursday evening, the school was opened up to share the education experience through art to all the families. Parents and their children were able to paint, make origami creatures, weave hats and design masks.
Tooradin Primary School early years co-ordinator Rachel Davis said it was a busy and exciting time celebrating Education Week.
“Tooradin Primary School prides itself on working in partnership with families and students, and this was demonstrated throughout Education Week in the smiles and excited conversations across the school,” she said.
“The students and families were able to participate in a wide range of activities across the week to highlight the diverse and engaging nature of education every day.
“The whole week was definitely an education celebration.”
