POLICE are seeking information to suspicious arson activity in Warneet last week.
On Wednesday 30 March about 11.30am a bush/scrub fire was detected in the Warneet Nature Reserve on Warneet Road.
The CFA attended and put out the fire, containing the spread to about 10 square metres.
Casey Crime Investigation Unit (CIU) Detective Sergeant Garry Kear said police were treating the fire as suspicious.
Det Sgt Kear said police were also trying to identify a young male, aged about 15 to 17 years old, who approached a local resident at the time of the fire and sought assistance.
The youth is described as being Caucasian, 170cms tall, thin build, short brown hair, wearing dark long pants and a dark blue shirt.
Police believe he may be able to assist them with their inquiries.
Det Sgt Kear urged any witnesses or local residents who have any information about the suspicious arson to come forward.
